ARTIST’S STATEMENT
My creative life began at a very early age designing
clothes for my paper dolls and myself. I engaged in many other creative endeavors through the years, but my corporate
retirement opened up a new phase of life and a new level of creativity. I felt free to explore watercolor, paper making
ceramics, silk painting, pastel and finally to creating silver jewelry which is my present passion.
As a designer, silver challenges me to utilize design in ever evolving patterns. To me simplicity is beauty. Using simple
form and texture I strive to create an understatement, and designing for the human form has always brought me closer to my
art.
A new medium of creativity started coming through me in November of 1994. I started writing poetry after attending a
Jean Houston workshop on creativity. I recently published a collection of my poems entitled. Soul Song which is my spiritual
autobiography.
I believe everyone has creative talents and giving them permission to emerge can bring great joy.
