ARTIST’S STATEMENT
I create figurative and landscape sculptures and paintings. I work with wood and the chance resemblances and formations found in nature. By manipulating and subtracting the non-essential parts, it is here I discover the hidden beauty and design within each piece I compose. When traveling, I hike numerous landscapes looking for pieces that speak of a magical representational quality. After cleaning and carving begin, I start to accent my inspirations with the grain and textures of the wood, uniting nature and art into sculpted visions, to achieve the effect I want. This is what challenges and drives me artiscally.
