
Stella Montgomery
ARTIST’S STATEMENT
Artist Stella Montgomery was influenced greatly by living
throughout other parts of the world such as Japan, Hawaii, Guam and the states of Michigan, Louisiana and lastly Nebraska, where she resides in
Plattsmouth. Her interest in art was nurtured as a child by her parents and by an aunt who attended the Chicago Art Institute and brought her drawing
supplies regularly. The subjects she enjoys doing the most include nature, not only wildlife, but all things.
Her works of art have been seen in many area art shows including
Rockbrook, and Countryside Village shows in Omaha, Art in the Park in Grand Island and Keamey, DeSoto National Wildlife Refuge in Iowa,
Wildewood House in Nebraska City, Plattsmouth State Bank, and Designers Show.
She has designed a new county seal for Cass County, and is working on paintings for "The Main Street Project" in
Plattsmouth, Nebraska.
Stella has been involved in Bellevue Artists Association where she was in charge of hanging new art for each new play at the Bellevue Little
Theater and for the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce offices. Her education includes ongoing classes with other artist such as Rosemary Vamosi
and workshops also including those of Ken Hosmer, Jerry Seagle, Karen Vemon. Tom Haas, Chauncv Nelson and Carrie Burns Brown.
